It’s official . . . we are bored with today’s pop culture. Larry King’s interview with Chris Brown had full intentions of bringing closure and potentially resurrect Chris’ career. But instead, as all of twitter world knows, the interview spawned a brand new celebrity . . . CHRIS BROWN’S BOW TIE.

Let’s keep it 100: the interview was boring. Larry’s questions were as deep as a blob of spit, Chris’ lawyer should be fired after his Timex watch went off on national television then jokingly said, “Who is Chris Brown and what is a Rihanna,” and Chris might as well have jumped on top on the table and did the Stanky Leg the way he danced around almost every question (and if that boy says the word “like” one more time, Imma stuff that bow tie in his mouth!). Long story short, anyone who watched should write to CNN and ask for that hour of their life back.

So who can blame John Q public (with Twitter accounts) to personify the overnight celebrity that is Chris Brown’s Bow Tie? Personally speaking, if I wasn’t tweeting and reading the hilarious comments everyone had on Twitter, I would have turned from CNN after the first commercial break.

And the aftermath of it all:
• The bow tie has its own twitter page (@breezysbowtie) and quickly calls out any other unofficial Chris Brown Bow Tie pages (smh lol).
• As of early Thursday morning, #ChrisBrownsBowTie is the number one trending topic, while Chris Brown himself struggled to stay relevant in the top 10.
• Jokes such as, “#chrisbrownsbowtie beat up #rihannasumbrella” & “#chrisbrownsbowtie is #signedtoyoungmoney” are being re-tweeted like crazy.

Now the question is, is television THAT boring that we cannot remain entertained by it unless we turn it into a twitter viewing party? Does Twitter REALLY have that much of a large influence on our culture? Or are power blue bow ties really that much of a fashion faux pas that it takes on its own persona? Either way . . . Jesus Take the Wheel.
