]]> Fashion Week in NYC officially kicked off yesterday and so far, I wasn’t “wow-ed” by anything… until today. Former Project Runway winner, Christian Siriano, is taking cocktail dresses and evening gowns to another level of couture with his Fall collection. Ruffles, rouching and regality took the runway show by storm. And Christian’s love for all things elegant, rich and dramatic was definitely evident.

And the SHOES!!!!!!! *faints*

As you may or may not know, Christian also has a fierce collection that is sold exclusively for Payless Shoes and the new Fall 2010 collection is SHOEGASM WORTHY! Inspired by vintage furniture and its classic swirled finishes, Christian is really taking these 6 inch “cost effective couture” heels to higher plains (literally and figuratively)!

]]> The fashion world has just been devastated with horrible news that Alexander McQueen was found dead in his home in London of an apparent suicide. He was only 40 years old. This news comes days before London Fashion Week and a month before he premieres his new collection at Paris Fashion Week.

With his creations, McQueen was always outside the box. Doing the norm was never an option. He was awarded the distinction of British designer of the year four different times between 1996 and 2003. His clothes can always be seen on red carpets by celebrity fashionistas, such as Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Kelis.

McQueen premiered his men’s collection at Milan Fashion Week just a few weeks ago and, as alway,s he did not disappoint.

Salute To The Risk Taker….He will be missed.

]]> Rihanna released her new video for “Rude Boy” today, and I am in love! (lol). Such a breath of fresh air considering the other emo-tastic videos that were previously released for her Rated R album. Gotta love the colorful, Jamaican/Hip Hop vibe she’s bringing. Very reminiscent of a Shelly Thunder video back in the early 90’s—hair and all. (YouTube her if you dont know who Shelly Thunder is). Also shout out to her Keith Hering-esque black and white couture scene… LOVES IT! Check it out for yourself.

Just got hold of some disturbing news from NY Magazine: the Jersey Shore kids have be approached by three designers to sit front row or model in NY Fashion Week.

*Falls on knees and prays to Saint Versace*

If it isn’t bad enough that this year is the last year NY Fashion Week will take place in the tents at Bryant Park—and that we live in a world with SNUGGIES—now this?! Ughhh!

The labels seem to have their sights set particularly on Sammi and J-WOWW, a burgeoning designer herself, to either attend or model in a show. What — no one wants Pauly D on the ones and twos?

]]> A few days ago Chris Brown released a bonus track called “They Say” for the Japanese release for his album Grafitti. Coincidentally, Kelis released her version of the same track (featuring Jean Baptiste) for her forth-coming album.

So the question is, which version sounds better. Kelis has the vocals for techno so it suits her well but I have to admit, I DO like Chris’ vocal arrangements on his version. It’s not the usual R&B/Pop vibe we get from him but it is a nice change.

I think they should just do a collabo and call it a day but… decide for yourself!
