So the question is, which version sounds better. Kelis has the vocals for techno so it suits her well but I have to admit, I DO like Chris’ vocal arrangements on his version. It’s not the usual R&B/Pop vibe we get from him but it is a nice change.

I think they should just do a collabo and call it a day but… decide for yourself!

In return, Kelis decided to send that love back in an open letter—that she intends on mailing—to PETA she wrote today on her MySpace blog.

There is no humane way to kill anything, let me start there. It’s unfortunate but it’s part of life. With that being said, I would eat pterodactyl if you found some and you told me it was meaty and delicious. And after doing a very minimal amount of research……. I found out that the founder Ingrid Newkirk is completely batty. I had a feeling but she far exceeded my expectations. I mean certifiably insane! Lol this chicks will is nuts, google it – it’s a riot! Beyond the fact that I think she’s a diabetic, which means she needs insulin, which is taken from lab pigs (I know this because my sister happens to be in veterinary school), which would be completely hypocritical. It’s like don’t abuse animals unless it can help me.

I feel very strongly about a lot of things such as the sweatshops that spin cotton and the blood on their hands. Btw it’s not just the look of fur. It’s warm as hell and feels glorious, ever rubbed faux fur on your body? Nothing luxurious about that. Then the letter proceeded to name artist and designers who don’t wear real fur. Great! More for me! I don’t judge them, don’t judge me.

If I started wearing endangered animals like polar bear or orangutan then talk to me. (Which btw for the record I would not – I do believe in the preservation of endangered species) But the minks and chinchilla that quite honestly are rodents and if weren’t in the form of a coat I would demand they be put to death anyway are not an issue to me.

The death of high fashion. Ugh.

I eat meat, and in fact my mouth salivates as I type the word meat! And the paint throwing that’s just ridiculous! What if I was hurling Loubitons and Pierre Hardy’s at every sad poorly dressed person on the street? As right as I may be it’s just fanatical and crazy. And people have the right to feel as they please. What about art? Survival of the fittest. Natural selection? No let’s just let all the rodents run free and over take our cities. Oh wait they have, NY and LA in particular are infested! Why don’t u save them all from scavenging on the streets and ruining my evening strolls, take them home. Make them pets! Get off my back! Pun intended!

Underpaid minorities picking your vegetables, now that’s fine for you right? Please, fight for their rights. How about the poverty in the communities of brown people around the world. She had the nerve to say (and I quote) “get over it” talking of the issue of black people and slavery in this country verses cows being slaughtered. Is she kidding me? Lol yes she must be. Actually, she’s lucky most black people have real issues to worry about in the U.S and don’t give a crap what her delusional privileged opinions are. But she should try saying that again just for kicks n giggles on the corner of Adam Clayton Powell Blvd in Harlem n see how well people “get over it” lol.

If u want to preach do it about something worthwhile don’t waste my time trying to save the dang chipmunk.

Find a worthwhile cause like the women being maimed in these Middle Eastern countries. Or female circumcision. Or women’s rights here in America, we still get paid less for doing the same jobs as men. Quite honestly if you hate the world so much go live in the forest where no one else has to hear you complain about the perfectly good food chain the good Lord created. Everyone has the right to an opinion, and that’s mine on that! xoxo

One of my all time FAV artists, Kelis, tweeted a link to her brand new song on Monday after a long hiatus. The track is called “Acapella” and it’s produced by David Guetta. The song has a cool dance/techno vibe that will definitely be received well in the dance clubs.

Kelis has always been one to push the envelope and stay way ahead of the game when it comes to fashion. Whether we loved Kelis for it or thought it was a hot ass mess, a lot of the styles seen on many of Hollywood’s finest—Kelis has already been there and done that. So it’s always interesting to see where she takes us next!

On her website (www.iamkelis.com), Kelis sent a special message explaining her hiatus, her new record deal, soon-to-be released album, and other future endeavors:

Well, walking through the streets of NY this summer… I use the term walking loosely… was extremely pregnant and probably doing more of a very slow creep down each humid sticky block… people had so much to say to me. You know us New Yorkers don’t ever keep anything to our selves… I was asked if I would ever put another album out; I suppose people assumed after the baby and divorce and all the time I took off (went to culinary school during my break which was amazing and another conversation that it would be on to motherhood for me. And well that’s true… as I lay here with my perfect little won ton now writing you all this message. My answer was always the same, “Soon come guys” ;) and so here we are. My album is pretty much done. I signed a new deal and I’m madly in love with life and ready to share something with you. My song is called “Acapella,” and I wrote it with love and life in mind. I hope that it finds you well and that you love it, cause honestly I do! Muah – Kelis

On July 23rd photos of Solange Knowles were leaked of her newly shaved head while on her way to pick up her son, Jules. The internet (especially Twitter) went CRAZY with negative comments and jokes about the new hair do. I personally think she didn’t look bad at all (just takes some getting used to) but folks were ready to burn homegirl at the stake!

The very next day paparazzi shots of Amber Rose at the Guess Flagship Store opening in SoHo hit the net and (like any other Amber Rose photos) the public reaction was pretty much equivalent to Pavlov’s dog and the dinner bell.

In another baldy bias instance, the masses went in judgmental uproar when Cassie debuted her half-shaved head via twitpic, but when Rihanna revealed her half-baldie in a London airport three months later, she received a mere “meh,” and was praised the rest of that week by the blogs for her awesome choice in pedestrian apparel and paparazzi flicks (that girl sure does dress up to walk around A LOT).

And keeping it 100 . . . RIhanna’s haircut was nothing new, it was previously seen back in 2006 on Kelis, before her last name changed from Jones to MISS MONEY BAGS (I’m still shaking my head: $55K/month!?).

So what gives Amber Rose and Rih Rih the “Get Out of Jail free” card and everyone else the “Do Not Pass Go, Do Not Collect $200” fine? KANYE and CEMENT . . .

Okay, I know at this point you’re saying to yourself, “Who gave this child a wordpress layout? And where is she going with this nonsense?” But trust, in about three paragraphs, it will all make some sense (hopefully).

Kanye is famous for his innovate lyrics and trendsetting fashion sense (LV backpacks, those retarded sunglasses, bringing back the shag haircut, etc.), but on the low, he’s also famous for making his friends “hot ish” to the public eye, too (i.e. John Legend, Lupe Fiasco).

When “Pon De Replay” came out, no one really care to be in RIhanna’s world (even with the rumors of her and her mentor, Jay-Z, getting it in). But once Rihanna started hitting the fashion scene with big brother Kanye (even had rumors of a backstage concert makeout session with him) and made it her duty to get all dressed up and walk around NYC every . . . damn . . . day, Rihanna is suddenly Hollywood’s new “It Girl.” So much to the point where we forgot what she did for a living until she was featured on “Run This Town” with Jay-Z and Kanye.

And then there’s Amber Rose . . . [cue “Rumpshaker” saxophone intro playing in background]

The girl is truly the Marilyn Monroe of Hip Hop. She screams “sex,” even when she’s wearing Reebok Classics, khaki shorts and a white tee (clearly straight out of Kanye’s closet). Yes, we all know she was in Luda’s “What Them Girls Like” & Jeezy’s “Vacation” videos, but y’all weren’t paying her no mind until she started dating Ye, and her high heels decided to hit the pavement like car service doesn’t exist.

The point is this: Amber and Rih Rih are not making any new strides in the world of fashion or entertainment. Both of them have developed great fashion sense and great publicity for doing “not so much.” The influences behind all of this . . . their addiction to being on the scene EVERYDAY and their close relationships with Kanye, who’s had a big influence on both of these ladies’ careers, creating great PR buzz for any REAL projects Amber or RIhanna will put out in the future, and thus making everything/everyone else NOT Yeezy-associated frivolous and down right wack.

Sorry ladies, maybe you should walk around NYC with Kanye more often. *shrugs* LOL!

Clearly this is my personal opinion because Kanye IS a hip hop trendsetter and he definitely has the Midas touch. But what do YOU think? Be sure to comment below!
